YTEF Grants

General Policies and Guidelines Governing Grants

The purpose of the Endowment will be to provide for the training of youth at the camp Sites owned and operated by the Wisconsin Conference of The United Methodist Church. The programs must be directly related to the training of youth between the ages of 6 and 18.

Grant Priorities and Preferences

1. Youth-centered programs will be preferred.
2. Wisconsin United Methodist applications will be preferred.
3. Helping new ideas to get started and gain their own momentum will be preferred.
4. Grants for Byron Center will be preferred.
5. New, unique, and creative programs, or ones that are different from other opportunities offered at the camp Site, will be preferred.
6. Priority will be given to new grants. Grants will be given for only one year at a time. There is no guarantee that a grant will be given more than one year and the understanding for grants given beyond the first year is that the grant amount will be reduced. Are there potential alternative sources of funding in the future?
7. Capital grants relating to the training of youth, but not related to the maintenance or upkeep of a camp Site may be requested.
8. After the grants are disbursed, the remainder of the approved distributable funds may be transferred to C1007: Camp Scholarship Fund at the discretion of the BCRM.

Procedures and Methods of Application

1. Application blanks for grants will be sent from the United Methodist Camping Office upon request.
2. Completed applications must be returned by October 1.
3. Grant applicants will be notified by November 15 of the action taken on their applications.
4. Appropriate signatures must accompany grant application.
5. Grant applications must list all the sources and amounts of total funding and include the anticipated budget for the year of the grant.

Report from Grant Recipients

A report is required from the grant recipient, to be submitted within one month following completion of the event, on the form provided by the Board of Camp and Retreat Ministries.
